In 2012, Elan Pharmaceuticals sent out a press release regarding their change in plan regarding CEO transitioning. As a masterpiece of indirectness, we chose to provide a satirical section-by-section ‘translation’,  which was included at our annual presentation at  ISCDD 2012, thinly disguised as referring to ‘Panache Pharmaceuticals‘. At that time, the silent film ‘The Artist’ had just won the Academy Award for Best Picture, thus this sequence paid homage to that visual style. The slides in quotation marks are taken directly from the press release, redacted slightly as if to conceal the identity of the company in question. Each one is followed by the translation into what would have been said if the release had been straightforward. It is best watched by opening the first slide and navigating the set via the arrow on the right side of each slide.
