Both for NIR’s publications and presentations at professional meetings and corporate symposia, we occasionally utilize imagery to make a point in an unorthodox fashion. The intent is to provoke thought, though some of these images may be provocative in other ways. The goal is not snarkiness for its own sake: With the challenges that confront the neurotherapeutics area, expending resources on irrelevant, ill-conceived, or sloppy programs is a luxury that the industry cannot afford and should not accept–and the challenges endemic to neuroscience require that a sense of humor be maintained.
